** From 1 September 2024, those who turn 75 and those age 75 to 79 will be eligible for a free vaccine to protect them from respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). RSV is an infectious disease of the airways and lungs.  We are also offering this vaccine to all women who are at least 28 weeks pregnant on 1 September 2024.  Please ask at Reception to book into our September clinics. We have also ordered in your Flu Vaccination if you are eligible so please book in your appointment for October with our team at Reception. **

When we are closed

When the surgery is closed please follow the advice below:

Call 999 in the case of a medical emergency – when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk. This can include loss of consciousness, acute confusional state, fits that are not stopping, persistent and severe chest pain, breathing difficulties, severe bleeding that cannot be stopped, severe allergic reactions and severe burns or scalds.

Call 999 immediately if you or someone else is having a heart attack or stroke. Every second counts with these conditions.

If it is not an emergency but you think it is still an urgent medical issue;

  • Bank Holidays, Weekends, and Monday to Friday between 6:30 in the evening and 08:00 in the morning; please dial 111
  • For calls between 08:00 to 08:30 in the morning (excluding Bank holidays and weekends) that cannot wait until the practice opens from 8:30 please call our telephone answering service; MasterCall on 0161 476 9666
  • If your call is after our own phone lines have closed from 6 PM to 6:30 PM or on Wednesday from 1 PM to 6:30PM please call the Out Of Hours Service, which covers Tameside and Glossop; Go to Doc on 0161 336 5958

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
